Michigan I-O is a local band and the result of a pilgrimage to Michigan’s upper Peninsula to record old folk songs captured by Alan Lomax- created for the 21st century. They are dedicated to reviving, recording, and performing folk songs that flourished in Michigan and the surrounding Great Lakes region in the late 19th century. With a combination of music and storytelling, this musical folk group provides an enjoyable evening of easy-to-listen to melodies and harmonies as they blend the historic sound of these songs sung by lumberjacks with a modern sound that is sure to please all audiences.
